About Brisbane International Airport
Located in the suburb and city of Brisbane, Australia, Brisbane International Airport provides transport to forty-four destinations to states and territories all over the country. The airport has terminals for international, for domestic travel, for cargo and general aviation. The location of the airport used to be in the industrial district of Eagle Farm, but in the 1970s, the government decided that Brisbane needed a larger, international airport. The Leighton Holdings built the new facilities at the current site in Brisbane in 1988.
For visitors coming into the airport, the terminals provide assistance with baggage and offer many convenient facilities. Plenty of food and shopping is available duty and tax-free for those waiting in the terminals and passing through. In the domestic terminal, travelers can find items for purchase as souvenirs and gifts for loved ones and friends. Merlo espresso coffee is the latest edition to the domestic terminal. The Airport Village has many shops, restaurants and businesses, including a beauty salon. The Smarte Carte service can store baggage for shoppers and diners.
Passengers can find travel assistance in the Brisbane International Airport. There is a helpful information desk for any question or travel need; there is an airport shuttle, hotel booking spot, and more. Additionally, the airport continues to develop and improve. In 2007, the government approved the construction of a new, parallel runway.
